The Piper Story

Knowledge. Integrity. Reliability.

Three simple core values that are as important today as they were in 1919 when Julius Piper, a dairy farmer in Flint, Michigan, subdivided his farm and sold the lots. It was selling those lots in 1919 that launched Piper Realty Company, parent company of Piper Management.

Four generations of the Piper family, along with two generations of the Bessert family, have now guided the company based on those same core values, and watched as Piper Management has grown into one of the premier property management companies in the Midwest.

Piper Management specializes in fee-based multi-family, commercial, and retail property management. It is our commitment to our clients to live these cores values each and every day as we strive to consistently add value to their properties. Below is a brief explanation of how we believe these core values apply to our day to day operations.

Knowledge

When managing a property of any size, Piper Management realizes that a keen understanding of the internal and external factors that affect the operations of the property is imperative. That understanding comes from both experience and formal training. Piper Management Group has over 200 years of combined management experience on staff that includes four certified property managers (CPM) and four Certified Commercial Investment Members (CCIM). These professional designations along with continuing involvement, education, and leadership in the profession – at local, state, and national levels illustrate our commitment to this core value.

Integrity

At Piper Management Group, we pride ourselves on our reputation. We strive to be a fair and equitable partner in all of our client relationships. Over the years, this core value has paid us back multiple times over through our long term existing relationships with our clients, some of which date back to the 1940’s.

Reliability

As a property owner, we know making the decision to turn over the management of one of your assets to a third party can be a very difficult one. We aim to make this decision easier by putting the policies and procedures in place to operate the property to its fullest potential; thereby providing a consistent return on your investment and minimizing the risks associated with each property. It is the consistency and repeatability of this core value that we hope gives our clients the peace of mind that their property is being professionally and effectively managed.
