Professional Certifications and Designations

Piper Management Group strives to differentiate itself from other management organizations by continuously earning and maintaining the most distinct designations and certifications in the property management industry. Here are some of the designations Piper Management Group, as well as its employees, have earned and currently maintain.

Accredited Management Organization AMO

Piper Management was awarded the AMO designation in 1946. Accredited Management Organization is the only designation awarded to firms by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). More than 660 firms in the United States currently hold the designation. AMO® firms are responsible for managing 1.5 million residential units valued at 42 billion and 498 million square feet of commercial property with an estimated value of 34 billion. AMO® firms, recognize that management expertise plays a critical role in enhancing the future value of property. Thus, they must have a CPM® who directs and supervises the firm’s real estate management activity. Further, this CPM® must have completed IREM’s course aimed at developing expertise in running a management company or department. IREM has established a tradition of well-defined financial criteria for attaining AMO® status. Each AMO® firm must undergo an independent financial review and for added client protection must maintain a fidelity bond and depositor’s forgery and alteration’s insurance. AMO® firm headquarters are reviewed by local chapter prior to recommendation to IREM National for consideration.

Certified Property Manager CPM

IREMs membership is made up of more than 9000 individuals who have achieved the Certified Property Manager designation. The CPM® designation is the most widely recognized real estate management designation among institutional, private and government real estate investors. The designation is attained by individuals who successfully complete intensive course study, have met rigid experience requirements and adhere to a strict Code of Professional Ethics.

Accredited Resident Manager ARM

Distinguished managers of residential properties are identified through IREM’s Accredited Residential Manager ARM recognition program. Attainment of the ARM® award is based on achieving high standards in the area of education, experience and commitment to the ARM® Code of Ethics. To achieve the ARM® award, applicants are required to successfully complete an in-depth course on residential site management. The course focuses on proven multi-housing management skills and techniques and provides detailed coverage of such subjects as marketing techniques, analyzing vacancy factors, equal opportunity compliance, budgeting and the selection and management of service contractors.

Certified Commercial Investment Member CCIM

A CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) is a recognized expert in the commercial and investment real estate industry. The CCIM lapel pin is earned after successfully completing a designation process that ensures CCIMs are proficient not only in theory, but also in practice. This elite corps of CCIMs includes brokers, leasing professionals, investment counselors, asset managers, appraisers, corporate real estate executives, property managers, developers, institutional investors, commercial lenders, attorneys, bankers, and other allied professionals.
